What happened to Aertex? The label was big news in the 1960s, the label made something of a comeback in the noughties, doing a range with John Simons as well as a host of 1960s-inspired designs covering tops and shirts.

Then they disappeared. Well, they seem to go a bit ‘fashion’ which didn’t seem to work before departing from direct retail. There is still a website in existence and the label evidently still makes some clothes for certain retailers. Notably, Jump The Gun.

The tops available at Jump The Gun are typical of the kind of knitwear that was being offered by Aertex just over a decade ago and typical of the kind of knits they were producing back in the 1960s. It wasn’t a premium brand back then, but this is typical 1960s casual wear.

Both have the waffle front and zip closure, as well as tipping to the collar and waist, as well as to the single front chest pocket. Note that this is a fitted top too, so pay attention to the size you order.

Talking of orders, you are looking at £65 for the short sleeves and £70 for the long sleeves.
