Nouvelle Vague print by Andy Smith

by Modculture 28 December, 2010

If you have a love of hip French cinema of the late 50s / early 60s, this Nouvelle Vague silkscreen print by Andy Smith might well appeal.

Obviously inspired by the late 60s Parisian street protest posters that we have featured previously, the print here features the names of cinematic giants Claude Chabrol, Jean-Luc Godard, Francois Truffaut, Jacques Rivette and Eric Rohmer and is sized at 62 x 46cm, as well as being limited to just 45 – each signed by the artist.

If you want one, you can secure one online, priced at £45.

I mentioned this briefly on the Facebook page, but if you missed it, there's a guide to decent men's clothing deals in the sales over at His Knibs.

It's an 'as we find it' guide to any online stores we find, ideally with some 'classic' clothing at knock-down prices.

Plenty more were added yesterday, with more to be added today.

Fred Perry sale kicks off

by Modculture 24 December, 2010

If you've not seen it yet, the Fred Perry sale has just started, with much if the range for both men and women knocked down in price online.

50 per cent off in most cases, so it's worth buying up and putting some gear away for when the weather breaks. The Fred Perry bomber jacket is a case in point. Perfect wear for the spring, it has those tipped cuffs and collar, the Laurel logo and full zip front.

Usually priced at £125, it's in the sale for £62.50.

After falling out of favour for big city gatherings and clubs, it looks like mod rallies are making a bit of a comeback, with Friday Street doing their bit with the Ayr Bank Holiday Rally.

As you might have guessed, it's taking place in Ayr, over the early May Bank Holiday weekend of 30th April – 1st May 2011.

All details and the flyer are online in the events section now – if you want to get into the hotel, you might want to think of booking now.
