We featured a fairly standard check Harrington from Baracuta yesterday, but this Fred Perry lightweight Madras check Harrington jacket certainly takes things a step further.
Part of the Laurel collection and designed with summer in mind, this bold 'shirt jacket' (as it is referred to) has a twin-button collar, single-button cuff, a zip front and two waist pockets, finished off with the Fred Perry Laurel logo.
Made in England from the Italian Cotonificio Albini fabric (so dry clean only), it sells for £180 online.

If you happen to be on the other side of the Atlantic, ideally in the Chicago area, you might want to check out the Mod Chicago 9 weekender.
It takes place over 10th and 11th June, described as 'A Case Study In Mod, Soul, Garage, Freakbeat and Psych'. So R&B purists might not necessarily want to apply.
See the listing on the site for more details, plus details of how to download a free album of tunes you might hear over the weekend.

For all you Adidas fans, there are two new colourways of the Adidas Samba trainers on the market with the classic 1962 football shoe/trainer offered in a blue or grey suede.
You can see an image of the second style over the page, wth the blue, as you can see, pictured above. Other than the colours, this is a fairly typical Samba, with the suede upper matched up with a vulcanised sole and gold branding.
£51.99 gets you a pair online.

Fancy a weekend in Paris? Or happen to be there already? Well, Friday 15th April looks a good night to be out on the town there, as it's the night of La Nuit De La Soul.
This is the 4th annual event, with guest DJ Nick (from Record Kicks) joining resident DJs Mys 35 (Paris) and Ol' Stark (New York), spinning rare soul, early R&B, Motown, Boogaloo, funk and dancefloor jazz.
It's at Bizz'art, 167 quai de Valmy PARIS 10eme (centre of Paris, near canal St Martin), which has a 500 capacity and a large wooden dancefloor. 11:30pm – 6am is the time, 10 Euros gets you in.

It's not our description, this is actually called the Sixties Shift dress by Karen Millen.
Very much inspired by 'swinging London' not least with the black and white finish, this is a colourblock shift dress with bib front detail and a length that sits just above the knee, the whole thing finished off with branded Karen Millen metalwork and a contrast buttoned waist.
Not the cheapest dress on the high street though, with an asking price of £175.

Shame about the nasty modern logo on the breast, but apart from that, this Baracuta G9 gingham Harrington has much to recommend.
Not least that bold gingham check, along with the classic G9 shape, this time with a slim fit, cotton outer, lined mesh inner, and two buttoned pockets.
New in at Stuarts of London, it sells for £140.

I know it's not necessarily the most popular label out there for many, but if you want cheap, Merc is cheap at Brandalley right now.
How cheap? Well, you can get a Harrington for £15, although I've no idea what the quality is like on it. You'll have to take a chance if cash is tight.
Check those out, as well as shirts, t-shirts etc now – stock tends to go quickly, so don't hang around if you're interested.

We mentioned that Ray Davies was curating Meltdown 2011 this year – and now the line-up has been revealed. Sadly without a Kinks reunion, but with a few decent things in there.
The line-up includes the likes of Ray Davies, Arthur Brown, The Fugs, Geno Washington, Alan Price, John Cooper Clarke, Madness and The Sonics, playing over 10th – 19th June. Full line-up (as it stands, more will be added) over the page, with tickets on sale from 29th March (members) and 31st March (all).
