Liverpool

You don't get many psych events 'up north', so The Butterflies Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast in Liverpool is one for the diary, if that kind of sound is your thing.

Described as a celebration of 1967-1969 West Coast Americana, the date is Saturday 27th November and 'brings together music, art, fashion and visual splendor' at Liverpool's Static Gallery. Organised by Liverpool psych band The Wicked Whispers in partnership with new independent label Electone Records, the event features a live performance by that band, along with The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, El Toro and Eva Petersen. DJ support will be from Echo and the Bunnymen's Will Sergeant (who runs a psych night in the city), with visuals from Howard Be Thy Name.

You'll find The Static Gallery at 23 Roscoe Lane in Liverpool (a 15-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street), with doors open at 7:30pm. Tickets are £8 in advance and available from Probe Records or you can get them online from See Tickets.

You can find out more at the various websites. Either the Static Gallery, the Electone Records site or from the site of the Wicked Whispers.
