60s dresses hit the high street

by Modculture 4 June, 2006

Topshopmod If you find that vintage 60s dresses are in sizes that aren’t as generous as you might like (not to mention as cheap as you like), it’s probably a good time to check out the high street for some decent alternatives.

Over at the Catwalk Queen site, they’ve showcased some of the better 60s-styled dresses currently available in your local stores, including this black and white number (for the slimmer figure obviously) at Top Shop – yours for £75.

Here’s a few things I’ve spotted on the high street:
Oasis – white dress in a waffle-type fabric with three buttons on the placket, £50
    – small PVC handbag, black or white with contrast stitching
Dorothy Perkins – snakeskin-look small handbag, green or black
Topshop – tons of Jackie O-type coats or jackets with big buttons in bold colours, eg, mustard, bright blue
Tops which button up at the back, bright prints
    Gold brocade shift dress
White satin-look coat with silver button down collar (£65)
New Look has tons of pointy patent shoes in primary colours.
Some nice navy or white pumps in Faith.
    Any more?
