Odeon's first releases for 2009 have been announced – and that list includes A Place To Go from 1963.

It's a slice of gritty realism from the early 60s – and a first-time DVD release. The movie is based around Bethnal Green in East London and focuses on Ricky Flint (Mike Sarne), struggling to find his way in an ever-changing East End, with the streets he knows being demolished to make way for high rise blocks of flats.

He plots a means of escape – a one-off crime of robbing a cigarette factory, pulling a gang together to do the job. But things get more complicated when he meets Cat (Rita Tushingham)…

Sounds like a winner and we'll have a review online very soon. If you want a copy yourself, it should be available for just over £7 from 16th February 2009.
