If you happen to be in old London town in the next couple of weeks (or live there already), you might want to check out Absolute Luck, an exhibition of unseen photographs of The Jam.

The photographer is Derek D’Souza, who took photos of the band live in his youth, photos that were seen by Paul Weller and as a result, D’Souza was invited to meet and photograph the band. This led to the amateur photographer taking shots for the Absolute Beginners Single Session in London’s Chiswick Park on 31st August 1981.

Those images, along with others captured at gigs, are on show at this exhibition. It isn’t an open door, you’ll have to ask for an invite. If you do (and if there’s room on the evening you have requested), you can see the shots, buy signed numbered prints, souvenir packs or a catalogue. Alternatively, you can just hang out with like-minded folk.

There will also be a raffle each night to win one of the enlarged photos – proceeds will be divided equally between The Stroke Association, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Crisis, Teenage Cancer Trust and The Woking Hospice.
