Blow Up club relaunch

by Modculture 14 January, 2009

London's long-running mod institution Blow Up is moving venue this month.2009BlowUp

Run since 1993 by Ian Jackson and Paul Tunkin, the "orgasmic mod soul pop" night has spent the last few years at The Metro on Oxford St. However the Crossrail development has meant it has to close, meaning the last party there is on this Saturday (January 17th).

The following week, on the 24th, Blow Up will relaunch a stones' throw away at 36 (formerly Bar Rumba) in Shaftesbury Avenue. The new place promises a bigger and better experience over two rooms, with guest DJs and the occasional live set too. The opening night sees The Bongolian plays live, whilst StereoTotal to play on the 31st.
