It's always good to see major art retrospectives outside of London, like the Bridget Riley Flashback exhibition, which is on right now at Liverpool's Walker Gallery.
Running until 13th December 2009, this major exhibition tracks the career of Bridget Riley, from her beginnings in the early 1960s to the present day, showing eight large scale paintings, with four coming from Riley’s personal collection, along with around 30 drawings and studies that offer background to her work and style.
Many of the works will be exhibited for the first time and if you like what you see, an illustrated catalogue accompanies the exhibition with new text by the artist – sure to be the perfect reference guide. The Waker Art Gallery is on William Brown Street, Liverpool, L3 8EL.
