This is a controversial one. John Smedley has always been known for its top quality, mod-friendly knits – notably without a logo. But the Coleman slim-fit polo shirts by John Smedley go in another direction.

Some might say the Fred Perry direction, as these shirts, available in 12 colour options, do bring the classic FP polo to mind straight away. Of course, we’re talking different colour options and a different logo (a jaybird), a slim fit and of course, Smedley’s Sea Island Cotton construction.

The jury is out for me, not least because I’m not sold on the logo. But if they turn you on, sizes are XS through to XXL, all selling for £99.

Also, note the image at the bottom of this piece – it’s from John Smedley’s blog and shows a cycling-inspired polo coming next year. That we DO like the look of.
