This isn’t going to everyone’s cup of tea, but if you like the idea of digging deep into the roots of R&B, the Jukebox Mambo album on Jazzman Records could be for you.

Compiled by Liam Large of Jukebox Jam (see our interview with him here), it’s an album that looks at the influence of Afro-Cuban and Latin rhythms on R&B and Jazz during the mid-20th century. Specifically the period 1949 – 1960.

Jukebox Mambo is coming out on CD, vinyl, digital download formats, along with a limited edition 6 x 10″ vinyl book set. But before you get your order in, you might want to give it a test drive. Jazzman has very kindly stuck up all the tracks (including the extra ones on the vinyl) on a Soundcloud page, which you can check out below.

if you do want to order, the CD and vinyl is available from £12.50 from Amazon from 12 November 2012.
