We like Simon Wells. He’s a really good writer and incredibly knowledgeable on the things he does write about. In fact, he has a few things lurking about on this site. With that in mind, we suspect Quadrophenia a Way of Life (Inside the Making of Britain’s Greatest Youth Film) will be one to check out.

Published by Countdown Books on 12th June (but available to pre-order now), it explores the making of the cult mod flick and its subsequent influence on popular culture. The book features interviews with principal cast members, along with director Franc Roddam, scriptwriter Martin Stellman and other involved in the creation of the film, combining to produce what’s described as ‘the definitive account of Britain’s greatest youth movie’ and one that relates as much to the 1970s as its 1960s setting.

283 pages in length, it’s available for £10.49.
