I know a number of you are fans of Serge Gainsbourg. If you are, you’ll probably want this Histoire De Melody Nelson super deluxe box set, which is a limited edition release.
Yes, a box set of Gainsbourg’s 1971 concept album, presumably returning in deluxe form to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Seeing as it comes in just short of 28 minutes, turning it into a box set is some work, but that work looks to have been done impressively.
According to the information we’ve been able to glean, the set includes the following:
The original album on CD
A CD of alternative versions of the tracks
The original vinyl album
A vinyl album of bonus sessions from the time of recording
An exclusive 30-minute DVD documentary
A large-format 52 book in English and French, including lyrics from the album
All of that in a limited edition, numbered box set, which is available to order now, but is available from November 7th 2011. You can order one for £75.47. Get it on your Christmas list.
