Note that I independently write and research everything in this article. But it may contain affiliate links.

We are updating our original article as The Kinks – The Anthology 1964 – 1971 box set is now available to order in advance of its 17th November release date.

As we said previouslty, this is essentially a five-disc package of the band’s output between 1964 and 1971 (which is probably the more favourable period to people reading this site, celebrating 50 years of the band and with a good number of obscure and unreleased tracks thrown in for good measure.

In fact, the box will contain 25 tracks previously unavailable (demos, alternate mixes etc), along with interviews with the band and a bonus 7-inch single (yet to be detailed). All the tracks have been newly remastered and accompanying them will be exhaustive sleevenotes (some apparently by long-time fan David Bowie) in the booklet.

The tracklisting still hasn’t been confirmed on the retail sites, but we ot hold of the one below some time back, which lists everything except the 7-inch single content – we’ll update when we get that.

As we said, the release date has been pushed back a little to 17th November 2014 and is available to pre-order now, selling for £48.99.
