Always good to see something Graham Day-related on the shelves. In fact, even better when it’s a long player. That’s The Girl In The Glass Case by The Senior Service.

Following on from the well-received Depth Charge single at the start of the year, the album has 14 tracks, described collectively as a ‘thrilling musical journey tinged with the filmic hues of bygone celluloid classics’. Which sounds just fine by us.

The pre-release blurb adds: From the first unexpected crash of Snake Charmer that attacks you like the crack of a rattlesnake’s tail, to the final hushed piano coda of Bees, via the European flavoured intrigue of Into the Tunnel and exhilarating Mexican romance of Five Beans in the Wheel, you are completely immersed in the world of The Senior Service.

The band is made up of Graham Day (guitar), Jon Barker (organ), Darryl Hartley (bass) and Wolf Howard (drums), with all four members appearing live at London’s Lexington to promote the album on 18th June 2016. Tickets for that are available here.

If you want to pre-order the album, you can do that on Amazon right now.
