It’s got the name Steve Barrow attached to it (as interviewed by this site in the past), so we can assume that The Cover Art of Studio One Records, a new book on Soul Jazz, is well worth checking out.

But this isn’t a history of the label specifically, it’s a celebration of its cover art. Which, I suppose, is a history of sorts, especially as it is backed up with details on those acts.

Edited by Stuart Baker and with an introduction by Steve Barrow, the book is a coffee table number covering 192 pages – most of those in full colour. 17th October is the release date, with Amazon doing discounted pre-orders for £22.50.
