Dance

If you are (or were) a fan of the two tone movement, you might want to pick up a copy of Dance Craze by Garry Bushell, which is published by Acid Jazz and available now.

According to the write up (I'll be honest, I've not seen a copy myself as yet), it's an introduction to and a history of the two tone scene of the late '70s and early 1980s, written by the man who wrote the original Dance Craze magazine.

Expect words on the likes of The Specials, The Selecter, Bad Manners, The Beat and The Bodysnatchers, as well as never before seen photographs, along with the rise and fall of that particular scene in a relatively short time. 136 pages in total, it sells for £7.99.

Note that it seems to be out of stock at Amazon, but you can order a copy directly from the Acid Jazz website.

Always good to look back on the two tone days, just a shame it’s written by Gary Bushell!!
