Mick & Tich
has died. He was 65.Davedeedozybeakymickandtich

He death on January 9th at Kingston Hospital in southwest London was in the presence of family members. Dee had been diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2001 but still continued to tour with the reformed band as late as last year.

The Wiltshire outfit with which he made his name broke into the top 10 in 1966 with 'Hold Tight!', topped the charts with 'The Legend of Xanadu', and for four years were international hit-makers. They even spent more weeks on the UK charts than The Beatles did in the late 1960s. They were particularly loved in Germany, headlining above the likes of the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Cream.

Dee left the band in 1969 to pursue a solo career, but rejoined firstly in the 1970s and once again in the 1980s. He ventured into acting briefly in the early 70s, but he spent most of his time afterwards working as a recording manager for Atlantic and for WEA, where he signed C/DC, Boney M and Gary Numan amongst others.
He is survived by wife Joanne, a daughter, and twin sons.
