If you love James Bond, you’ll want to get yourself to London’s Barbican this summer for Designing 007: 50 Years of Bond Style.

It marks the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise, from 1962’s Dr No to this year’s new Skyfall, so don’t just expect all the cool ’60s stuff. Although there should be plenty of that on dislay.

The Barbican has got ‘unprecedented access’ to the Bond archives, producing what’s being described as a ‘multi-sensory experience’ that covers the creation and development of Bond style over those 50 years.

That means both the secret service and the villains shown through the tailoring and costumes, set and production design, cars, gadgets and special effects, graphic design and motion graphics, exotic locations, stunts and props. Probably as close as you’ll get to being in a Bond movie without an equity card.

It all runs from 6th July – 5th September 2012, 11am – 8pm (Thursdays until 10pm). Advance tickets are now on sale, head to the Barbican website if you want one – they range between £8 and £12.
