Bidding is brisk for this 1962 Vespa GS160 Mk I scooter – and you can perhaps see why.

A vintage 1960s scoot with a far more recent upgrade. According to the seller, this original Italian scooter has been owned for four years and in that time has been ‘completely and sympathetically restored’ including a full respray.

The original 160 engine has been ‘stripped, rebuilt and tuned’ by Dave Bristow (scooter racer). It has been upgraded to a 180cc and fitted with electronic ignition and is now 12 volt for ‘better performance and greater reliability’. It has done just 90 miles since the rebuild and is s’till being run in’. £8,000 has been spent on this model.

The period rear rack and Florida bars are included in the sale, as is an extra spare wheel and a full year’s MOT. If you like what you see, there is still a day of bidding to go and you will need to up the top bid of £4,100.
