Plenty of books about and relating to mod have been published in the last few years. If you want to know more about them and meet the people behind them, check out The London Modernist Literary Event.

It isn’t for a while. But you can book tickets for the event now, which takes place on Saturday 15th February 2015. It’s described as ‘an afternoon of mod related authors talking about their books and inspirations behind their work’. So if you have an interest in mod, it’s probably of interest to you.

It features:

Mark Baxter (The Mumper, A to Z of Mod)
Paul ‘Smiler‘ Anderson (Mods: The New Religion)
Simon Wells (Quadrophenia a Way of Life and Butterfly on a Wheel)
Stuart Deabill (Thick as Thieves: Personal Situations with The Jam and From Ronnie’s To Ravers)
Terry Rawlings (Mod: Clean Living Under Very Difficult Circumstances – A Very British Phenomenon and Brian Jones – The Final Truth)
John Hellier (Quite Naturally: The Small Faces and Steve Marriott: All Too Beautiful)
Ian Snowball (In the Blood and Dexys Midnight Runners: The Team That Dreams in Caffs)
Jason Brummell (All Or Nothing and All About My Girl)

And Special Guest The Jam’s Rick Buckler will be discussing his autobiography due out in 2015 and will take part in a Q&A with the audience.

Each writer will sign copies of their books after their performance in the foyer.

Doors open at 11.45am , First Author will be on stage at 12.15pm. That venue is The Cockpit, Gateforth Street, Marylebone, London NW8 8EH. Tickets coat £15 and are available here.

Love Modculture? If you enjoy what you read or have benefitted from it and want to help with the ever-increasing costs of the site and newsletter, you can always buy me a coffee at Ko-Fi. Every penny is helpful and appreciated.
