There is an endless selection of colours for the classic shirt, but if you want to go back to basics, check  out the era-specific colours for the Fred Perry M12 polo shirt.

Those colours include (possibly) the very first colour produced by the company back in 1950s, the maroon and ice tipping being a collaboration for a sportswear company who wanted a shirt to reference the colours of West Ham United. You can see that one above.

Also here is the black and champagne from the early 1960s, which is described as a once ‘subversive take on the white tennis original’, along with the 1970s chocolate and ice (with a nod to the suedehead and northern soul), the maroon and ice (another 1970s colour mix) and a couple of 1990s colours – navy and ice plus black, white and red.

All are made in England and all available directly from Fred Perry, selling for £70 each.
