You can be sure of two things. There’s always a rainy season and when it starts, the single-breasted raincoat at Uniqlo hits the shelves.

It’s the budget option if you want that Harry Palmer look when it does get wet. Not that it’s the only option. If you want the real deal, you want the 1966 Harry Palmer raincoat by Lancashire Pike, which is custom made, looks and feels amazing and as a result, doesn’t come cheap. But it is built to last.

Alternatively, there’s a similar raincoat at Jump The Gun for £150. But if that’s still a digit too far, you can always have a look at this one at Uniqlo.

The price is definitely the selling point compared to those others, but the coat itself is a decent thing too. A classic raincoat with a water-repellent coating, it has hidden buttons at the front, a single back vent and as a departure from the original, some quilting inside for extra warmth. Not that it affects the look too much.

Three colours available, but the beige is the ‘classic’ shade. Regardless of colour, the price is £89.90 and the sizes are from XS through to 3XL.
