The sun is (almost) out and the sky is blue. Fancy a runaround for the summer? Here are five interesting classic cars currently up for auction on eBay and ready to drive away.

1. 1970 Volvo P1800e

Fancy some Simon Templar style? You’ll be the local Saint with this 1971 Volvo P1800e.

This is the car (albeit a slightly earlier version) that Roger Moor drove in the TV version of The Saint back in the ’60s. You can see why too, A very stylish drive and a million miles away from what you’d expect from Volvo today.

According to the seller, it’s down 51,000 miles, is in ‘perfect condition mechanically’ and has had a restoration back in 2010, when the body was rebuilt and it was given a new interior. It’s a classified, selling for £4,500.

Honda S800 Coupe

2. 1967 Honda S800 Coupe

Another maker you’ll know, but a car you might not. This is a UK version of the S800 and has been with its current owner for 31 years – garaged for the entire period, as well as being rebuilt and restored.

See the listing for all that work and many more images. It’s got an 800cc engine, has 64,573 on the clock and has style to spare. Some work needed to finish it off – if you fancy taking it on, the price is £3,400 right now.

MGB GT

3. 1974 MGB GT

I was looking for an earlier MG, but this 1974 MGB GT has condition and price on its side.

For a start, it has just 38,500 on the clock from new – do the maths, that’s not a lot per year. It’s also said to have ‘immaculate’ bodywork and has been garaged since new. It’s also has the same lady owner since 1976, has its original radio and spare wheel as well as a new MOT

In short, it’s slightly later but it’s still a period stunner. The opening bid is £2,900.

Sunbeam Alpine Series III GT

4. 1963 Sunbeam Alpine Series III GT

Want some James Bond style? This Sunbeam Alpine Series III GT will certainly give you that. Well, almost.

James Bond drove one of these in Doctor No, although his was a series II, which doesn’t differ much from this series II and is the last one made with ‘fins’. The seller claims in ‘looks and sounds’ exactly like the 007 car, complete with metallic paint, wooden dashboard and overdrive, operated via a column switch.

The car has been upgraded over the last six years, but does have the original parts included if you want to refit them. 85,000 on the clock, with the condition described as ‘superb, reliable, mechanically sound and structurally solid. If you fancy it, £4,000 is the price right now.

Triumph GT6

5. 1973 Triumph GT6

Rather than pick out the obvious choice of a Spitfire, we’ve gone for the more distinctive GT6. This is a 2.0 coupe, complete with four-speed gearbox (but no overdrive) and described as being in ‘very good condition’ with the body work and interior in ‘tip top condition’.

Its said to drive well and has new carpets, door cards etc. On the downside, 106,000 on the clock might be a worry, but that’s not excessive in almost 40 years. If you fancy it, £5995 is the price.

Also, if you like the look of that, but check out this replica Le Mans T6 version, which offers the ‘look’ with some modern functionality. Right now, that’s £2,000. More on that here.

Very cheap for some great cars. Honda S800 Coupe or the Triumph GT6 is probably my favourite.
