The second James Taylor Quartet album is reissued this week, they have a new album out next week, and also have announced a special 100 Club show.JTQ Useful Tips

First issued in
the summer of 1996, A Few Useful Tips About Living Underground was a return to their Hammond roots, stripped as it were of guest vocalists and other accoutrements. This was jazz-funk for the purists. In addition to the original album, the CD reissue adds the three tracks recorded by the Quartet for use on the first Austin Powers movie (although only one made the actual cut), plus the Ceasefire mix of the single 'Creation'. Former Acid Jazz man Dean Rudland tells the story of the band and unveils previously unseen photos within the booklet.

Meanwhile the latest JTQ album New World is out next Monday (April 6th).

The 100 Club show in London is scheduled for Saturday June 6th. Tickets cost £20 plus booking fees and can be purcahsed from here.

A Few Useful Tips About Living Underground is out now on BGP Records and costs £11.69 from Amazon here, with New World on Real Self costing the same amount here.
