Hot on the heels of one time label mates Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings’ UK shows comes old school funk/soul legend Lee Fields with a string of UK and Irish gigs.

Having cut his first 45 in 1969 and having a series of follow-ups on tiny labels in the 70s, Fields disappeared in the 80s only to resurface a decade later on the Ace label before landing at Desco and it’s offspring, Daptone and Soul Fire.

It’s a long overdue return to to the UK for his legion of devoted fans and he lands in the Uk in April along with his current group, The Expressions.

The dates for your diary are:

April 3: Islington Assembly Hall, London
April 4: The Wardrobe Leeds
April 5: Band On The Wall, Manchester
April 6: O2 ABC, Glasgow  (inc support from The Private Hammond Orchestra)
April 7: The Sugar Cube, Dublin
