Not cheap, but ‘serious’ art rarely is. However, the Twiggy I and Twiggy II silkscreen prints by David Studwell should be rather bold additions to your wall.

I am a big fan of what David Studwell does, because he does just enough, creating something new, but at the same time remaining truly iconic.

David Studwell is a contemporary British artist and printmaker who studied at Central St Martins School of Art. He has worked as an artist for over 20 years, but it is his work of the fairly recent past that has got a lot of attention.

Inspired by the work of Andy Warhol, Studwell brings iconic images from the past back to life, giving them that ‘pop art’ look and creating something special and obviously very retro for your wall.

It looks like an old piece of pop art, not least because of the subject matter. But this is new and incredibly eye-catching.

The prints, which are available directly from the artist, are sized at 41cm x 51cm and in limited editions of just 20 each, all signed by the artist. Not cheap at £300, but these are collector’s pieces that would look great on any wall.

Note that there is also a rather cool Michael Caine set of images too.
