The hardback came out last year, but it looked nothing like Mod by Richard Weight in paperback.

Yes, the book seems to have had some kind of style makeover for it upcoming paperback debut. The cover is much changed (as you can see above), nothing like the ‘man in the overcoat’ from the original hardback version. It has also had a subtle title change too. Yes, it is still called ‘Mod’, but the ‘A Very British Style’ subheading has now been replaced by ‘From Bebop to Britpop, Britain’s Biggest Youth Movement’.

Yet for all of that, this seems to be the same book, just with new packaging and a cheaper asking price. You can pre-order the paperback now for £11.38, which is certainly a lot less than the original hardback.

Is it any good? Well, some were critical when it first came out, but when Mark Raison reviewed it for this site, he was pretty positive, although with the odd reservation.

Anyway, you can pre-order now ahead of an 8th January 2015 release date. Alternatively, the hardback is still available and the book is even cheaper (and also available now) if you want the Kindle version.
