Amazing to think that Ugly Things has been doing its thing with lesser-known vintage sounds for over 30 years now. But it has, with issue 37 now available with a distinct mod slant.

This issue focuses on The Pretty Things, with an interview with Phil May ahead of his upcoming autobiography, as well as the Small Faces, with interviews from Ian McLagan and the late Steve Marriott (an archive one, obviously.

There are also big features on 60s pop-psychers Carter & Gilbert and the Rainy Daze, Texas garage band Thursday’s Children, Californian band The Hitmakers, Cyril Jordan’s memories of 1967, and an exclusive interview with the elusive Julian Covey (Philamore Lincoln).

If that’s not enough, there’s also pieces on The Haunted and The Radiators From Space, Loosers and the JocoDev Sextett, the mod/soul years of Carl Douglas and plenty of reviews too.

Where you do you get you ask? Well, you can order one directly from the magazine’s website in the US. Or if you are in the UK, Piccadilly Records do it inshore and mail order. Their site is here.
