Get an awful lot of enquiries about mod barbers to the site. Which is perhaps where the Barber’s Point images by Ian Davies will come in.

Fact is, there aren’t a lot of ‘speciality’ places around – so it’s often a case of knowing what you want and explaining it. For reference, I always think it’s worth hunting around for some decent images. Perhaps vintage images, but anything that gets your point across. If you can hold a picture up in front of a barber or hairdresser, you are more than halfway there. The second thing is to find someone good enough to replicate it.

Presumably, Ian Davies can tick one of those boxes. And if you are in the area, you can perhaps try the barber who cut the styles.

Ian Davies has done some promotional shots for the barber’s shop in London’s Soho district, specifically the work of owner Sue Brady, who specialises in ‘Mod’ cuts. A few examples of those are featured here.

You can see some of the images above and bell. If you want to see more of Ian’s work, check out his website. If you want to know about the shop in question, you can find their website here. The address is:
7 Kingly Street,
West Soho,
London
W1B 5PG

For a cut, ‘Mod’ styles are priced at around £45 and take something like an hour of your time. Of course, other barbers and hairdressers are available if you want to take the photos to show there. But at Barber’s Point, you know you will get the exact style.

Thanks for this, great stuff! I’ll have to make an appointment the next time I’m in London…

Will this Soho hairdresser cut styles other than a stereotype buzzard Paul Weller clone haircut?????????

  3. I can testify, Sue Brady cut was worth travelling from Andover to the smoke, great sharp razor cut, now based in York I’m using Newton’s.

  4. Where can I get a ‘mod’ hairpiece? I have to get one as plugs are too expensive!

  5. ‘Mod’ wig needed, no dandruff please…

Any receding/balding Mod crops please, some of us are 40+ and still Mods, we ain’t all got hair like Weller! Lol!

  7. I’m still getting my haircut by Sue (I’m 58 and only been getting sorted out by her for a couple of years) and I’ve changed styles along the way and she knows what my head looks like from the outside. She’ll chat with you, work out with you and away you go.
Iv’e just had mine done again today after lockdown and you should of seen it before 🙂
£45 in London is an absolute bargain but tipped as only right.
If you hear any crap….Ignore it 🙂
