I’ll be honest and admit I’ve yet to read this – but that’s only because 1963: the Year of the Revolution by Ariel Leve and Robin Morgan hasn’t yet his the shelves.

Published by It Books on 5 December, its sub-title is How Youth Changed the World with Music, Art, and Fashion and that pretty much sums it up. The argument here is that 1963 was the year that youth became a ‘commercial and cultural force’.

With that in mind, this book is a first hand ‘documentary-style’ account from the movers and shakers of the time about just how these people made their mark in fashion, music and the arts. How ordinary kids became golobal superstars.

The initial write-up claims this is a ‘fast-paced historical eyewitness record’ as well as ‘an inspiration to anyone in search of a passion, an identity, and a dream’. Bold statement. You can make your own mind up next month or you can pre-order now. Amazon.co.uk is doing discounted orders for the hardcover at £10.12.
