I would guess that this is nothing to do with the similarly-titled book by Paul Anderson, but the Mod The New Religion compilation on Outta Sight is still worth a mention.
It is what you might describe as a ‘solid’ collection of tracks. Nothing here is going to worry the rarity brigade, but if you want a collection of (mostly) mod classics, that’s what you get.
27 tracks in all, bookended by two tracks from the Jimmy James & The Vagabonds (and Pete Meaden-produced) New Religion album of 1966, with the rest including the likes of Phil Unchurch, Slim Harpo, Eddie Bo, James Brown, Mongo Santamaria and so on.
