Having first previewed this a year ago it gives us some serious pleasure to say that the film about Chess, Cadillac Records, is out this month.Cadillacrecords

The movie, directed by Darnell Martin, charts the rise of Chess Records and its roster of 1950s and 60s superstars – a stable that contained the likes of Chuck Berry, Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Etta James and Howlin' Wolf. The film stars Beyoncé Knowles as the troubled James, while rapper Mos Def, Columbus Short and Jeffrey Wright play Berry, Walter and Waters respectively. Oscar-winner Adrien Brody will appear as the Chicago label's chief exec and founder, Leonard Chess. Knowles has covered five blues and R&B standards for the film, including those James classics At Last and I'd Rather Go Blind.

Watch the trailer here for a taste of what to expect when the film opens in the UK on February 20th. The official Cadillac Records website is here.
