Just spotted a couple of new scootering books coming up later this year, those being Vespa by Gunther Uhlig and Scootermania by Josh Sims. Interestingly, you can read some of the latter online already.

First up, Vespa – The Story of a Cult Classic in Pictures (to give it the full title) is heading your way on 3rd July 2015. It’s a hardback book covering 252 pages from Veloce Publishing and according to the write-up, is pretty much what you expect.

That’s the Vespa s story told courtesy of over 470 photos and if it is to be believed, leaving you ‘immersed in the culture of Vespa and la bella vita’. You can pre-order it now for £35.

The second title has been harder to research. There’s nothing much on the publisher’s page (Bloomsbury), but we have found details on as US pre-order site and some early pages on the Google Books site.

That shows a hardback book covering 176 pages and covering four topics – ‘History and Design, ‘Scooter Style – From Hollywood to Mod’, ‘Let’s Go Clubbing, Let’s Go Racing’ and ‘Twenty First Century Toys’. From that, you can work out that the book covers modern-era scoots as well as the mid-20th century. The books also includes a number of specially photographed features on modern scooter designers, collectors and artists.

That book is due out on 10th September 2015, selling for £13.03.
