Steve White - Drums / Percussion Paul Weller

The Background:
As Individuals, the chart & live success of these four musicians is staggering, enjoying millions of record sales with both UK & International hits:

Guitarist Aziz Ibrahim was the man who took over from John Squire in The Stone Roses, instantly known for his highly individual guitar style, he has followed his work with the Roses by lending his unique sound to the recent works of Ian Brown.
Controlling the bass, Damon Minchella has quietly cemented his place as the rock solid cornerstone of one of the last decade's most successful bands, Ocean Colour Scene. Holding down the groove as the band have sold out tour after tour and had hit after hit.

Mick Talbot was one half of the highly lauded and multi platinum selling Style Council, one of Britain's most innovative bands. Mick has played diversely with Jools Holland, Galliano and performed as the funky backbone of the Young Disciples.
Steve White has played drums on an incredible 39 hit records throughout the career of one of the UK's most respected and influential musicians, Paul Weller. Steve has played with Oasis, formed a deadly alliance with Damon as first call rhythm section with OCS and has played with a stellar line up of musicians over the years, including Paul McCartney, Dr John and Jimmy Page.

Enough said..... the collective talent and respect these four musicians have earned, has now combined, honing their skills to play together for the first time, creating unparalleled results.

The Story:
Recorded live by ace studio man Max Heyes (Primal Scream, Weller, OCS, The Doves), the Players album is a consummate lesson in the art of the rhythm section. Joined by special guests Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) & Steve Craddock (Ocean Colour Scene), with the tightness and funk of the MG's and the syncopation of the Meters providing the inspiration, the ambition of the tunes delivered has been driven purely by the desire to showcase a higher musical purpose to a generation of young musicians force fed the contrived corn of today's music industry.

Listen and connect with the energy, feel and sense the magic of the engine room boys doing their thing (and loving it) on the types of records we all know and love. This album is a journey into dynamics, groove and improvisation by four musicians at the top of their game...Players.
