To be honest, we lost track of this a little, but with the launch party for the press just gone (no, we didn’t get an invite), probably worth mentioning that Paul Weller’s Real Stars Are Rare clothing collection is now available online.

As we mentioned previously, it has been designed by Weller in collaboration with Phil Bickley, owner of the Tonic menswear store in West London – which is the place to check it out if you don’t want to buy online.

The first selection, showcased as long ago as February, is now available to buy. But note that this doesn’t come cheap and it isn’t the ‘stereotypical mod’ collection that some people might have expected. Judging by Weller’s recent clobber, that was never likely to be the case.

What you do get is jackets, trousers, shirts, accessories, knitwear and t-shirts. As for examples, the wool double breasted jacket with working cuff buttons and side vents at the top of the page retails for £420, the tapered trousers in super fine kid mohair are £150 (there’s a matching jacket for those too if you want to do the suit thing), the Star knits in super fine 33 gauge merino wool are £175 and the slim fit dress shirts with high collate are £150.

As we said, not cheap – but that’s not the market they are playing to. You can see the full range at the Real Stars Are Rare website.

Update: The Real Stars Are Rare collection is no longer available. However, you can still find pieces being sold on eBay.
