Preppy

Fans of the ivy look might want to check out the newly-released Preppy: Cultivating Ivy Style book by Jeffrey Banks and Doria De la Chapelle, which is published by Rizzoli.

The 170-page book is described as 'the authoritative fashion history of the roots, growth, and offshoots of the quintessentially American preppy style'. From its origins to its presence on the elite US campuses and onto its wider influence internationally.

Not just words, the book also features iconic and never-before-published archival and editorial photographs and personal snapshots from 'the original Ivy elites', along with photographs and vintage ads illustrating the classic garments, plus features on retail pioneers such as J.Press, Brooks Brothers and Ralph Lauren.

The book covers both men's and women's clobber and is available for £17.85 discounted at Amazon.
