What do you buy The Who fan who has everything? Something as unique as these black and white photographs of The Who, which go up for auction next month.

The photos were taken fairly early in the band’s career, specifically in 1965 at Cheam Bath Hall, just prior to a legendary NYE gig at the Roundhouse. They are the property of the promoter of that gig, taken by a friend and given as a gift to him.

There are 14 images in the lot, some of which are pictured here. All are sized at 9.5 x 12.7cm and are said to be ‘sold with copyright’. Presumably that means you can’t go out and get yourself a book deal for them without asking the original owner’s permission.

The estimate is £200 – £300 and auction takes place at Catherine Southon Auctioneers & Valuers, The Chateau, Coombe Lane, Shirley Hills, Surrey, CR0 5RE. The auction takes place on 15th November 2012 from 11am.

You can also bid online, with the website for auction here.
