Rare photobook that captured the ‘swinging London’ period.

A very obscure and sought after book, which is likely to be reflected in the price if you do find a copy.

First published in 1969, it is a collection of mostly black and white photos of London in the ‘swinging sixties’ era, with the emphasis on outrageous fashion statements (including – shock! horror! – near nudity).

The book took Habicht seven months and 250 rolls of film to shoot and really captures the essence of the period. Initially, it was promoted by the song ‘Permissive Paradise’ by The Iveys, which was pressed on a flexidisc. There is some confusion as to whether this ‘sought after’ item came with the book, or was just given to booksellers as a promotional item.

If you have both, you are very lucky – and you could be quite affluent if you sell.

The book is out of print. Check either eBay or Abebooks to find a secondhand copy.
