Rhoda_1Rhoda Dakar returns to Filthys on Saturday 13th May for another free gig. Rhoda began her career with Ska/Two Tone band The Bodysnatchers, and very soon was regular guest vocalist with The Specials.

She had chart success with "Do Rock Steady", before singing on perhaps her most famous and notable release, "The Boiler" – much played by the late John Peel. She also joined Gerry Dammers on the "Free Nelson Mandela" single, under the The Special AKA monika.

Revisiting her Two Tone roots she has recently sang with The Selecter and appeared on tour with other 2 Toners Dave Wakeling (The Beat), Roddy Radiation of the The Specials and Pauline Black & Nick Welsh (The Selecter).

At the Filthys gig, she’ll  a selection of her hits plus some of her newer material in an acoustic mode. DJ support is from Dave Edwards.
