Ronnie Wood Anthology

Ronnie Wood
has a two-disc CD retrospective out in September, which seems to be a "game of two halves" compilation you wish was a single CD.

Ronnie Wood Anthology: The Essential Crossexion
consists of 37 tracks, the first disc draws from Wood’s solo albums, 1974’s I’ve Got My Own Album To Do, 1975’s Now Look, 1979’s Gimme Some Neck, 1981’s 1234, 1992’s Slide On This, and 2002’s Not For Beginners – all likely to fall under the "strictly for fans" label.

The second disc seems far more interesting – and you wish this was released on its own. It samples all of Wood’s group outings, including material from the Creation, the Birds, the Jeff Beck Group, the Faces and less interestingly, some latter day Rolling Stones material.

It’s out through EMI/Virgin on September 26th.
