Joining former Hideaway man Paul Welsby and Sugar Merchant this time is (appropriately) The Twisted Wheel’s own DJ Pete Roberts, adding some Twisted Wheel classics to the usual mix of club soul, northern, classic ’60s ska, rocksteady and reggae.

Mod clubs from Sheffield’s past and present combine with The King Bee Goes Pow Wow.

The next guest DJ at The King Bee is Sheffield’s very own Mik Parry, who along with resident Gav Arno are the driving force behind the legendary (and in this case that’s not hyperbole) Pow Wow Club – one of the best club nights of the past decade attracting people from all corners of Britain and Europe.

Mik started DJing at the peak of the house and acid jazz scene in Sheffield’s Leadmill, then started the Shaken not Stirred night in the same club with Gav along side him on the decks playing swinging London, exotica and soundtrack grooves. He got more and more involved in DJing at Mod clubs and quickly built a reputation as one the scene’s top DJs.

For those of you that never got to the Pow Wow Club be it in its spiritual home of Sheffield or in their very own room at London’s Le Beat Bespoke or at the recent allnighter in Stoke, this is your chance to sample a flavour of it.

Expect the usual King Bee hard edged R’n'B with a dash of rock ‘n’ roll, but with added Pow Wow – this is going to be something special.

It takes place on Saturday 8th June 2013 at The Shakespeare pub, Gibralter Street in the centre of Sheffield.
