by Modculture 7 October, 2009

Everyone who has lived in Manchester has had at least one good night in the Star and Garter – and the Rudeboy & The Uplifters night looks to be another.

Taking place on Thursday 22nd October at the Stat and Garter (you'll find the 130 year old pub behind Piccadilly station), it promises live ska from the two bands plus an atmosphere of a 60s blues party, taking in ska and reggae of all era from the DJs – from original ska through roots reggae and into two tone.

The venue holds about 150 and has a large dancefloor, with drinks at pub prices. There's also a projector showing old ska/reggae films, along with with a wall display of old ska memorabilia. £4 gets you in and if you're driving, the venue has its own secure private car park – entrance at the side of building on Fairfield Street (back of Piccadilly train station).
