If you have a Sky box (whether you have a contract or not), you should be able to get the new, free-to-air Talking Pictures TV channel from today (Tuesday 26th May) and it might turn out to have some interesting vintage movies on it.

I’ve just been checking the first week’s schedule and although the line-up is mixed, there are some notable movies on there of interest to readers of this site. For a start, all the Small Faces-related films are showing in the first week. Yes, Dateline Diamonds (which features the original line-up of the band), as well as the two films that star a young Steve Marriott – Be my Guest and Live It Up!

The rest of the line-up is mainly a mix of fairly obscure vintage 1950s and ‘60s films and some TV shows (although some content is from outside that era), with the likes of Everyday’s A Holiday and US swinging sixties TV show Honey West also jumping out of the line-up.

As I said, starts today, with the listings worth keeping an eye on. There is a website here too if you want to see the listings yourself.
