Swifty at Beyond The Ballroom

by Modculture 16 July, 2009

Remember From Jazz Funk & Fusion to Acid Jazz? We previewed it some time back and judging by initial comments, Mark 'Snowboy' Cotgrove's in-depth history of the UK jazz/dance scene is well worth picking up. Or you could experience it for real this Sunday (19th July) at Beyond The Ballroom.

Celebrating the publication of the book, Beyond The Ballroom offers up dancefloor sounds from Gilles Peterson and Snowboy, along with Mighty Jeddo and Dilanga live plus films and of course, a book signing.

If that's not enough, book designer (and indeed designer of this site's logo and menu) Swifty will also be selling some limited edition prints under the title 'Swifty's Jazz Fest', 60s-inspired 'live' artwork featuring jazz greats – you can see the Sun Ra one above. Get down to Cargo, 83 Rivington Street, London EC2 for all of that. or if you can't get down, you can always contact Swifty about the prints via the link below.
