With the changeover to a new site happening before this event, I'll just run a news piece flagging up the Brighton Mod Weekender 2011, which takes place over 26th, 27th and 28th August 2011.
Details are still coming together, but if you want to go, might be as well to get your accommodation sorted now. When there, you can check out all the events at the Komedia Theatre in the Lanes area, which includes three live bands, allnighters, market, record fair, scooter competition and the ‘Sounds of the Birdcage’ exhibition featuring rare Action memorabilia as a preview to a book about the legendary '60s Mod band. There are also free daytime events at the Volks, near the seafront.
You can get your tickets now, with full details to be confirmed nearer the time.
Just got a mailshot off Jump The Gun, pointing out that the retailer is now selling this Jump The Gun Spearpoint shirt.
The shirt, described as having a '59-60 jazz club feel', has a Spearpoint collar ( with collar stays) and a slim fit, as well as being darted with two pleats on the back. There's no box pleat and the cuffs are a little longer than usual with a squared off edge.
Made of 100% cotton, it costs £50 in white and a fine off white/grey needlepoint. More shots over the page.
