Two London clubs in March

by Modculture 7 February, 2008

The London club scene is in for a treat at the beginning of March as two new(ish) nights open their doors.

The first, Tune Up allnighter on Saturday March 1st, is the latest club bought to you by those folk at the Sweet but Deadly collective. This northern soul & Jamaican music night is the sister event to the Raise Your Hand allnighter, and takes place at the same venue in Newington Green. Hosted by resident DJs Smart Phil & Giordano, expect to hear a heady mix of “maximum strength boilers” from America and the Caribbean. The inaugural night sees guest slots from Adam Torel, Andy BB, Dean Thatcher (Set The Tone), and Rob Glover (The Buzz).

Then the following week sees the return after a short break of Hitback!. This 3rd installment sees a new resident DJ rostrum of Alan H, Southern Sam, and Macke, plus guest spots from Pid and Mace. Hitback! promises "r’n’b, Bluebeat, jazz and boogaloo" in a great venue in the City area of London. This is a treat offered ‘for anyone with a discerning 60s musical ear’. That will be us then.

Two Saturday nights with two great line-ups: the London club scene hasn’t had it this good for many a year. Venue, times, prices, and relevant web pages below.Hitback_3
