Two Sunday sessions in London

by Modculture 18 March, 2008

For those seeking a more cerebral Sunday outing in London are in luck as two ’50s/’60s nights are just about to begin.Sunday_stomp

For north Londoners we have Sunday Stomp, bought to us by DJ Michael Jemmeson at the ever popular Cellar Bar at The Constitution in Euston. A monthly outing beginning on Sunday 30th of March, the evening promises a selection of R&B, rock’n’roll, early soul, ska, and instros from original 45s. First
guests at the Stomp are Filthy Rich and Louise (Sleep All Day, Drive All Night). The event is 4pm-10pm;  free entry before 7pm, and £3 after.

And for south Londoners we have the Ska Bar at The Copperfield in Catford. Every Sunday (beginning this week) from 4pm until closing, the authentic boss sounds of Tiny T and Archive 45 Records together bring you the best in ska, rocksteady, skinhead reggae, and northern soul within an intimate basement bar. Guests lined up include Asher G, The Rocksteady Daddy, Enthucol, Jim Cox, Duke Neville, Gladdy Wax, Lenny Parker, and DJ Marisa. Food and collectors’ stalls are promised also.
