Another year and another movie based around and featuring mods – titled We Are The Mods.

We Are the Mods is E.E. Cassidy‘s debut feature, apparently a US-based teen drama using the familiar territory of ‘good girl corrupted by the bad’ as well as being a tribute to 60s cult classics like Blow-Up and the early work of Jean-Luc Godard.

According to the director: ‘The movie came from my interests in high
school…I was into ska, I had a Vespa and the video I watched over and
over was Quadrophenia. When I went to college at UC Santa Cruz there
was a little mod culture there. Then when I moved back to L.A. in the
late ‘90s, mod-inspired clubs were suddenly going strong, and
everything sort of melded together.’

From the sound of things, this is very much independent cinema, with
the whole thing shot in just 21 days and still in post-production now –
hence the lack of YouTube trailer (although one will follow soon).
There’s also the not-so-small matter of the soundtrack being finished
and cleared. In fact, if you’re in a band and you want to get your
music in the film, there are still opportunities for the right people –
drop the director a line at [email protected] to find out more.

We’ll let you know when a trailer is available – in the meantime,
developments will be posted on the movie’s soon to be updated website.
