This a crowdfunding project, so if you want a copy of Young Men From Woking – A Guide to the Bootlegs of The Jam, you need to support it.

You can do that via the Pledge Music site, with the book currently at 25 per cent of its goal with a couple of months left. Hopefully it can get past the finishing post with your help.

Described as a book ‘compiled by collectors for collectors’ by authors Neil Allen and Jon Abnett, the book is all about bootlegs from the band, showing off as many sleeves (front and back) as is possible with high resolution, full colour photographs over the 256 pages. Details of the labels and run-outs will also be highlighted.

Also, with the recent advent of bootlegs being bootlegged (honestly) it will also help the buyer decide if they are chasing an original or not.

There finished book will be very limited to 500 copies worldwide and with 100 special editions split into two lots of 50 editions.

There are t-shirts, posters, prints and badges available to support the final target, as well as the option to pre-order the books. If you want the book, that’s priced from £45, with limited editions in premium packaging going for up to £100.

Have a look at the lot at the Pledge Music site.

Note that authors or indeed this site do not endorse bootleg records of The Jam or any band.
